Educational Activities of The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra
The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra pays a lot of attention to educational activities for children and young people since it is an important part of its overall mission. That is why it will be offering educational concerts for schools from Olomouc and the near surroundings this season as well. The main aim of this activity is to acquaint children with the Czech and European musical tradition, provide them with an insight into the work of an orchestra and familiarize them in detail with various musical instruments. In an accessible and entertaining manner, children are also introduced to the secrets of basic music theory and Italian musical terms. However, the most important thing children should leave our concerts with is the joy of music and appreciation of its live performance. For more information about individual concerts, please visit the website of The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Additionally, as part of its educational activities, the ensemble also takes part in the regular conducting courses. They are held several times a year in the Orchestra’s premises and their purpose is to help students or graduates of artistic high schools and universities with their professional formation. The joint effort is topped off by a public closing concert on the last day of the course at 7pm in the Reduta concert hall.
